Introduction about JIS
Japanese International School is a multi grade system from kindergarten to high school following the Japan’s model, and is an advanced education model in Hanoi, following comprehensive education, focusing on compassionate, tolerance and inner depth students. Educating people with honesty, self respect, kindness, independent thinking and working and group working ability, creativity to become elite citizens, international standardized students, and have capacity to become respected business men, scientists and managers in the future.
With the motto as “Learning can be joyful and students must enjoy”, the provided curriculum is the connection between building confidence, learning skills, ways of thinking, the results of physical and life skill trainings in a joyful environment. The pupils are equipped with the advanced learning methods and skills such as fast reading, mind mapping, memory training and ability to use both hemispheres in the study… We strongly believe that all our students will become elite, full of compassionate, imaginary and creativity, and success in school and future life.
The mission is striving toward WISDOM, the school never stops in striving for achieving highest education standards, to educate and train students toward this phenomenon. Our vision is that: without knowledge students cannot work, but knowledge is not yet enough, we also need to have understanding of wisdom living. All creativeness, aspiration and congenital trend (aptitude regions) of each student will be encouraged with enabling environment.
About education method: with kindergarten school, the curriculum is based on early education with harmonious combination of Japanese Education, Montessori and Shichida – focus on balancing on both brain hemispheres. With primary-high school education, Japanese methodology and curriculum of education is applied. Conventional reward and discipline form is replaced by encouragement and positive discipline respectively, replace normally kind of discipline with positive discipline in the school (Please click reward and discipline for more details)
The school’s teaching is based on Japanese’s education under 3 curriculums below:
Japanese-English Bilingual Curriculum: From kindergarten to high school, students are taught in Japanese and English. Vietnamese is considered as a foreign language class.
Viet-Japanese-English Trilingual Curriculum: From kindergarten to secondary school, students are taught in Vietnamese, Japanese and English. In high school, students are taught in Japanese or English. Vietnamese focuses on writing skills.
Viet-English Bilingual Curriculum: From kindergarten tosecondary school, students are taught in Vietnamese and English. In High school, students are taught in English, Vietnamese focuses on writing skills. Foreign language, student can choose French or Japanese.
From, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade, students with ambitions to study abroad will be transferred directly to partnered schools in Japan and United States.
With various extracurricular activities; during the summers, students will be exchanged to study in Japan or Singapore and welcome exchanged students from Japan and Singapore. Pupils acquire knowledge not only theoretically but also through observation and practice to understand and remember easily.
After completing the high school level, students will:
Have been developed comprehensively in knowledge – morale – physical – arts-culinary sense; Have good morale standards according to Japan’s standards (please take a look at Japanese Education); inner discipline, full of compassionate, imaginary, creativity and good health; knowledge about aesthetic and culinary sense.
Be influent in three languages Vietnamese, Japanese and English (with Viet-Jap-Eng curriculum), be influent in Japanese and English(with Jap-Eng curriculum), Vietnamese is foreign language. Fluent in Vietnamese and English (with Viet-Eng curriculum), foreign language can be Japanese or French)
To have knowledge of Vietnamese and Japanese culture
Have good basic knowledge to continue to study at Japanese universities, and English spoken countries and international universities in Viet Nam. To be able to think and work independently as well as in a group and presentation skills.
To be professional in advance learning skills as fast reading, mind mapping and memory training, and development in balancing between right and left hemisphere.
To have ability to solve and research some problems in the real life.
To be passionate in learning, to have ability for self learning and long-life learning
To have good life skills (trained during 12 years in the school), and have adequate life skills and disaster preparedness, mitigation skills and environment protection.
To be confident and proactive in life, have pride in themselves, family as well as their school.
With the support from Japan, Japanese International school will accept to train and teach Vietnamese teachers, allow them to experience freely at school.
The school will introduce groups and Japanese companies so that students can choose the jobs to follow after graduating high school. If there is an application and an agreement to come back to work at the groups and companies after graduation, and it is accepted, the groups or companies will grant that student with scholarship for all the time studying at University in Japan.
